What is Microblading?

Microblading is the process of implanting color pigment beneath the surface of the skin using a disposable hand tool by creating small incisions (like paper cuts) that replicates the look of individual hairs to produce the appearance of fuller eyebrows or to enhance the natural features of the face.

What is Nano?

Nano brows are hair stroke like eyebrows that are created with a machine rather than a hand tool. While the individual hair strokes are created with a blade for microblading, creating a small incision in which pigment is deposited, machine hair strokes are created by very small punctures in the skin where pigment is packed in with the needle motion.
While nano brows can look exactly like microbladed brows, it allows more options in terms of density and creating dimension by packing more color in some strokes than others.

How do I know which service is best for me?

Overall, nano brows are a great option for everyone. However, I would recommend nano over microblading for older clients with thin skin in the brow area and/or wrinkles in the brows. The machine technique creates less skin trauma than the incision of the blade and will give softer results. If you have oily skin with large pores, nano strokes may be the best option for you. I do have great microblading results on such skin for the majority of my clients, but I like having the option to switch them to nano if the results aren't as crisp as hoped. If you have little to no eyebrows or partial eyebrows, nano is for you! This will allow me to create darker and lighter strokes which creates an amazing dimension to the brow and makes it look hyper realistic. the machine technique also allows me to cross strokes which gives a very natural look to fluffy brows. Lastly, if you have partial eyebrows and need more density to make the natural part of the brow blend with the tattooed part of the brow, I can add some shading between the strokes for a seamless and fuller look.

Microblading is also a great option for most, but specifically clients with normal to dry skin, small/normal size pores.

If you are still not sure which one to book, simply schedule the service of your choice and changes can be made at your appointment once I assess your skin.

How long does microblading/nano last?

The treatment is considered semi-permanent and will not wash off, however, it will fade over time and may need a follow up every 1 to 3 years. Frequency of follow ups depends on a number of factors including: the pigment color used (lighter colors fade faster), lifestyle (sun exposure, sweat), iron deficiency (your body absorbs iron-oxide as a supplement), and if any chemical peels and strong skincare come into contact with treated areas. Please note that final results cannot be guaranteed as each unique skin type will hold pigments differently and break down at different rates. The tattooed hair strokes tend to have a more crisp look once healed on dry skin compared to more blurry strokes on oily skin.   Your artist will re-evaluate how your skin has retained the pigment at your follow up appointment and make any changes necessary.

Follow ups are normal for cosmetic tattoo procedures, which allows us to build up the brows over 2 sessions for greater results. The initial procedure is followed by a follow up appointment if needed about 6-12 weeks later.

Is the follow up appointment included?

No, the follow up appointment is a separate cost. Not every client needs a follow up and some need it at a later time than most.

How long should I plan for my appointment?

New client appointment: 2 hours

Follow up appointment: 1 hour

Yearly follow up appointment : 1 hour

Does microblading hurt?

To keep it as pain-free as possible we use a maximum-strength topical numbing cream. Although pain varies from person to person, most of our clients experience little to no pain during the procedure.

How many treatments are needed?

Two treatments are usually needed, at least 6 weeks apart. Sometimes just one treatment is sufficient, but a follow up appointment is offered at a lower cost if needed. With most procedures, the color looks dramatically lighter after the first week. Some clients prefer this, while others opt for a bolder look. At the second appointment, we will assess the color retention and make adjustments as necessary. Everyone heals differently and at different rates. If your cosmetic tattoo does not heal perfectly the first time, do not worry! We can always go darker and add more density at your next appointment.

How will I look immediately after? What is the healing process?

Your miroblading will appear darker and bigger than expected for the first few days. This will gradually lighten during the healing process. Please view the detailed aftercare.

Can I exercise after getting a cosmetic tattoo?

You must avoid working out for 5-7 days following your cosmetic tattoo appointment. Light exercising is allowed (minimal sweating), but you MUST clean the tattooed area with lukewarm water as soon as you are done exercising. The salt in the sweat will fade the pigment very quickly and give poor results.
